An Iowa motorcyclist died Tuesday in a Fort Dodge crash.

Daniel Brown, of Webster City, was driving a motorcycle east on Highway 20 when he collided with a box truck that was crossing the highway, according to an Iowa State Patrol crash report.

The report says the driver of the box truck failed to yield to Brown, who had the right of way.

Brown, 74, was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the box truck was not injured.

According to the latest data from the Iowa Department of Transportation, 250 people have died so far this year on Iowa roads. That's 31 more than at the same point in 2022. Over the last five years, an average of 338 people have been killed in statewide crashes annually.

Forty-five people have been killed this year in motorcycle crashes, compared to 49 in 2022.
