Lee County crash critically injures motorcyclist on US-41

A man from Ohio was critically injured early Friday when he crashed his motorcycle into the back of an SUV that was stopped at a red light on US-41 in Lee County. According to the Florida Highway

A man from Ohio was critically injured early Friday when he crashed his motorcycle into the back of an SUV that was stopped at a red light on US-41 in Lee County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 1:40 a.m. near Big Pine Way.

The 31-year-old man was riding a motorcycle north on US-41 in the center lane when he struck the back of an SUV that was stopped at a traffic light.

During the impact, the driver was thrown from his motorcycle. He was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

The SUV’s driver, a 66-year-old man from Fort Myers, was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
